FAQ’s
What type of products do you use?
I use a wide range of products. Some of my favorite brands include Hourglass, Charlotte Tilbury, Bobbi Brown, La Mer, Patrick Ta and many more. I love trying new products and incorporating them into my kit. I use exclusively high end and luxury products, except for mascara. My L’Oreal mascara simply can’t be beat.
How did you get into hair and makeup?
When I was in my first year of college, I started doing makeup on family and friends. I began being asked to help with weddings for people that I knew. I was hired to do family member services for a wedding where renowned artist Lora Kelley was doing hair and makeup for the bride. She saw me working that day and later sent me a message asking me if I’d like to work for her. She trained me personally. I started doing weddings with her for that 2015 wedding season. As I wrapped up my freshman year of college, I realized that I did not want to continue. I decided instead to enroll in a local cosmetology school where I could study hair also in September 2015. As the wedding season came to a close, Lora told me that she would not be returning to weddings next year. I had discovered that this was my passion and I decided to start my own business in January 2016. I knew I wouldn’t graduate cosmetology school until that following September but thought it would be good to get a head start. However, Lora leaving the wedding industry left a hole in the market. As she continued to get inquiries, she sent them my way. She recommended me and connected me with the finest wedding professionals in our area, even though I was still just 19. This allowed my business to soar right from the beginning. Beauty is truly my passion, my talent, and I can’t imagine doing anything else.
How many weddings have you done?
While I’m not sure I’m able to count up them ALL, I estimate I’m getting close to 200.
How were you trained?
I was initially trained by another artist, Lora Kelley. I also went to cosmetology school and received my license in 2016. I also pursued much of my own learning by testing and trying new products, watching videos, and practicing on loved ones and myself.
What type of lashes do you use?
I prefer individual lashes. I find them to be the most comfortable and the most natural. Each cluster is applied one by one, so the look is entirely customizable. I can make the lashes as long, short, thick, or wispy as you’d like. These are not the same thing as eyelash extensions and are only meant for one-day wear.
Where do you live?
I currently live in Athens Georgia. However, I am from Charlottesville, Virginia and regularly work in both the Charlottesville and the Washington DC area. I am available for travel anywhere.
What is your process?
Typically, once you inquire with me, if I am available I will respond to you with a quote. Some brides may opt to have a phone call with me to see if we are a good fit. If you are interested in moving forward, I will send you a contract and an invoice. I require 50% down as a deposit, and the other 50% two weeks before the wedding date. A few months before the wedding, I will reach out to schedule a trial run. Some brides like to do a trial run before booking me, and that is totally great too. For trial runs, I typically will travel to the client if I can. During the trial run, we will chat about your vision, look at photos, and I will ask you many questions about what you’re looking for and how I can make you feel your best. And of course, we will practice the wedding day look until we get it perfect. I say all of this just to give a general gist for how things typically go. Ultimately, I am here to serve you.
